Setting the Foundation

When I decided to embark on the adventure of starting my own business, I spent a lot of time thinking about my “brand.”  I was searching for one word that would sum up the core of my business beliefs.  As I sifted through possible company names, I couldn’t help but focus on one… Harvest Design Co.  I selected the name Harvest and a logo including wheat, because it represents the American farmer.  For decades this has been a profession dedicated to work ethic, family strength and core values.  These are the beliefs that I try to live by everyday in both my professional and personal life.

I can attribute my work ethic to how I was raised on a small farm in Southwest Ohio.  I was always curious to know how mechanical things worked and was never afraid to lend a hand; even if it meant just sitting in the barn handing my dad tools.  Working manual labor jobs since high school has contributed largely to my success, and I aspire to bring that same success to each of my customer’s projects.

Family has always been a strong presence in my life.  During my childhood, I spent each night sitting down with my family eating a home cooked meal and sharing funny stories and happenings from the day.  Today, I get to continue that tradition with my husband.  Their love and encouragement is what fuels me.

Often times on my projects, you’ll find me checking in on jobsites and even helping the installers if need be.  Being hands on allows me to really know the products I am selling.  There is always more to learn in this ever changing remodeling industry, and there are so many knowledgeable people willing to share their experience with someone who can keep an open mind.  The goal is to provide my client with the best knowledge that I can and the ideal space for their family.  Nothing warms my heart more than finishing up a project and giving them a space to make memories for years to come.

When it all comes down to it, it’s all about family and making a house a home.
